As EBC’s flagship street brake pad material for prestige and faster cars above 200BHP, the 09 version of EBC Redstuff ceramic Brake pads sets new standards in brake performance. Redstuff ceramic brake pads have always been known for its low dust ability but the latest blend has greatly reduced the phenomenon of pad “Pick up” or disc scoring and reduced dust even further.

Tested at the UK Motor Industries Research Association (MIRA) in witnessed tests early Redstuff reduced car stopping distance in tests by almost 50 feet from 100 MPH offering a staggering 30% brake improvement.

Redstuff brake pads are however as a harder compound does take longer to fully bed in to achieve its highest levels of performance (can be up to 1500 miles/2500 Kms urban use) during which time the odd “Chirp” of brake noise may be heard when starting from cold in damp and cold conditions at walking pace speed. One press of the pedal to clear the rotor of any dampness and this disappears to leave EBC Redstuff a pad that inspires confidence in all cars. The motto is be patient give the pads a full chance to bed down.

Redstuff is only available for heavier and faster cars and does find its self at its best on slightly heavier cars or Truck and SUV applications. Less dust also means less rotor wear and it is almost guaranteed that your rotors will last double as long as when used with the more abrasive steel fibre brake compounds used by almost all of our competition.

HOW TO BED IN YOUR NEW BRAKES FOR STREET/URBAN DRIVING

High Performance lowest dust rating pads for Prestige imports and faster street driving.

There are two reasons our customers love Redstuff, First because they are the lowest dust pad we have encountered by reducing dust by 60-90%. Plus the minimal dust you see is very easily removed with a simple sponge wash as it contains no steel fibre particles as in all other pads. Second they brake like an alligator right from cold (as good as Original pads or better) and just get better as they heat up.

This material is a Kevlar® fibre based brake compound enhanced with ceramic particles. If you have previously tried EBC redstuff (pre-ceramic compound) this material is light years ahead. It lasts longer, it brakes better and is quieter.

Being a hard wearing pad, bed-in times can be as long as 1000 miles and drivers must be patient until the pad takes up the shape of their disc (brake rotor). This is a truly impressive fast road pad for repeated heavy braking.

It emits far less dust than semi-metallic pads and has been proven to stop a passenger car/sedan/sport compact/hot hatch 13 metres quicker than OEM pads from 100mph/160kph. Features EBC Brake-In surface coating which conditions rotor surface and accelerates pad bed-in. Nominal friction coefficient 0.5 with approx. 50% dust reduction.

Most EBC Red Ceramic pads are approved to ECE R90 brake safety regulation.

  1. I’ve currently got about 50,000 miles on a set of Redstuff pads. These are great pads. Absolutely silent, low dust, excellent fade resistance and good cold bite. I prefer the Greenstuff pad for daily driving, but the Redstuff has a higher fade resistance and more progressive feel near the limits. Reds are better suited for auto-x cars that see street use than for street cars that see auto-x use…if that makes sense.

  3. After “fighting” with the dealer on the chatter in my brakes from the beginning when hot, I felt they wouldn’t honor the warranty, I upgraded to EBC dimpled/slotted rotars and EBC dustless pads. The chatter was gone and the braking is much better. Even my wife has commented on the improvement in braking in her ’06 Chevrolet HHR. I liked the improvement in braking so much, I replaced the brakes on my ’07 Ford Ranger with EBC dimpled/slotted rotors and EBC dustless pads. Again, the improvement in braking is very noticeable. Thanks for a great product. A much needed improvement over factory brakes!

  4. After 34.000 km the original discs & pads front & rear has been worn. A friend told me to buy the redstuff so I bought them. I mounted them and it squeaked very loud only the rear left pad, so i think this one has been damaged due to shipping. After 1600km (~1000miles) the pad was ok. Now the breaking is very good, quite low dust, no noise. Only if I drive like rally there is some fading in the breaking, maybe because the car is so heavy. So I will try the Yellowstuff next time. All in all still a very good choice!

  5. Great pads got them and some 8 inch rotors to bring my 6yo Hayes Mags back to life. I am 105kg and have used them on Kuranda DH and Bump track with little to no fade.

  7. These pads are excellent! I’ve been through quite a few different brands of pads and rotors and have not found a better product than these. I will be using the Redstuff pads off my Cobra until it becomes an all out drag car and then will probably switch to Yellowstuff. These pads are very quiet and do not produce a lot of dust. These pads with the Turbo Groove Rotors from EBC are perfect for the aggressive style of driving I do.

I finally have clean wheels. these pad may brake a bit better and last a bit longer, but wow! no more dirty wheels. i have gone for two weeks and the wheels still look great. what little bit of dust that does show up comes off completely in an automatic car wash. BMW should be ashamed that they don’t use these as OEM!

  11. I just wanted to say that your brake pads are absolutely AWESOME! I have a 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback GTS, and ever since I got it in January, I’ve been prepping it to run on road courses in the Northeast. I did that several times in the fall, and I have EBC Redstuff pads to thank my big improvement in handling and lap times. My first time at Lime Rock Park, I used the “performance” pads that came with the drilled/slotted rotors I had installed. They glazed after one day at the track. I spent a ton of time researching the next option online, and EBC kept coming up. So, I dove in & bought the Redstuff series pads, followed the “brake in” directions to the letter, then took them up to Lime Rock. Damn! What a difference!!! I felt very confident after a few hard braking sessions into the Big Bend turn, and then just laid into them the rest of the day. No noise, super smooth pedal-feel, awesome “bite”, and I was really surprised at the minimal amount dust on my rims at the end of the day. I’m sold, and you have a new EBC brake pads customer for life!

  13. Porsche cars have excellent brakes from the factory, but I wanted something that stopped in the usual efficient Porsche manner yet gave me less dust. After a lot of research, I decided on EBC RedStuff pads. Boy am I happy that I did. No noise, FAR less dust (and the dust you do get washes off 10x easier), and they actually stop noticeably BETTER then the stock Porsche pads (Pagid, in my case). These pads are going on my wife’s 300E and my son’s Jetta Wolfsberg at the very next pad change! Excellent product EBC ! Bravo !
