Coronavirus – 2020

An Update from EBC Brakes – How We Are Keeping Our Employees and Visitors Safe Through Covid-19 – 21st September, 2020

To reassure our employees, contractors and visitors, we are continuing to put their safety first by taking the following action:

  • Follow all Government and Public Health England guidelines as and when issued;
  • Social distancing of 2 metres implemented and regularly observed on site. All manufacturing and office areas have been measured out and have more than the required amount of space to enable the company to safely implement social distancing guidance;
  • Thermal scanning of everyone entering site recorded daily without exception;
  • All employees enter through the same entrance, maintaining social distancing at all times. One-way flow at entrance and exit points has been introduced;
  • Regular updates for employees on company actions taken through email, notice boards and team briefings;
  • Vulnerable employees identified, shielding or self-isolating where necessary in line with Government advice;
  • Increased amount of hand sanitisers in each department and enforced use of sanitiser when entering/leaving each department;
  • Restrictions on contractors required to attend site, thermal scanning and hand sanitising undertaken at security gatehouse; pre-authorisation essential for visitors taking into account any travel from high risk areas;
  • No contractors allowed on site without prior approval from CEO;
  • No visitors to site without approval by CEO;
  • Internal and external meetings via Skype or telephone where possible;
  • Staggered break/lunch times to avoid social gathering;
  • Extra cleaning of canteen areas, toilets and door furniture;
  • Lone worker areas created by absence of employees are monitored by CCTV/security personnel, additional daily walk-through carried out by Management;
  • Furloughing of employees who are shielding once identified by NHS as vulnerable people;
  • Routine questionnaires to reinforce the regulations and monitor employees travelling to and from restricted areas and countries;
  • Ensuring where appropriate employees quarantine when they have travelled from a country outside of the allowed corridors.
An Update from EBC Brakes – How We Are Keeping Our Employees Safe Through Covid-19 – July 23rd, 2020

To continue safeguarding our employees, contractors and visitors, we have taken the decision to continue observing social distancing of 2 metres across all company sites.

Any employee who shows any symptoms will be referred for testing and will not be allowed to return to site until either a negative test result has been received or until after isolation for the government recommended time. In the event of a positive test, we will refer anyone who may be at risk for testing.

All actions introduced in May 2020 remain in place.

How EBC Brakes is Responding to the Coronavirus – Updated March 27th, 2020

We are taking the impact of the Covid-19 virus very seriously and we are doing everything in our power to ensure continuity of supply and to minimise disruption. That being said, EBC Brakes is still very much open for business and with our shipping partners, we are still able to ship to almost all affected countries. However, this situation is changing daily.

Our factories are still fully operational and we are also very fortunate to have very good stock levels in our distribution centres in Northampton, UK and Las Vegas, USA. Whilst we have taken every possible precaution to protect our staff and our own families to minimise the spread of the Covid-19 virus, we have made the decision to do even more.

Therefore, at the end of our usual business closure hours on Friday 3rd April (UK and USA offices) all EBC Brakes facilities will close temporarily for an extended Easter break.

We plan to resume normal business hours on Tuesday 14th April.

From everyone at EBC, we thank you for your understanding and support.

Take care.
