Motorcycle Racers Hall of Fame – Sam Mousley – UWTSD Orthrus Racing
Samuel Mousley is one of the riders who races for UWTSD Orthrus Racing Team. Sam has been riding for Orthrus Racing since the team started over two years ago. Starting on the Suzuki SV650 in his first year of racing Samuel brought home nine podium finishes and two wins.
Sam rode the teams Yamaha R6 in the Pre-National 600 class with Thundersport GB in 2017 and for 2018 will be racing in Ireland at some road racing events, whilst making an appearance at some Thundersport rounds throughout the year.
Sam has EBC GPFAX brake pads and floating discs (front), Double-H™ brake pads and floating discs on the rear of his 2009 Yamaha R6.

What`s your day job?
Full time student and Deliveroo cyle courier.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Second place finish in Thundersport GB stocktwins at the end of my first season of racing in the wettest weather imaginable.
What would be your dream car/ motorcycle?
2017 Yamaha R6.
Did you always want to be a racer or something else?
Only since I got my first bike at 17.
Front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive or 2 wheels?
Always two wheels.
What motorsport event would you most like to compete in?
Isle of Man TT.
What is the most insane/scary/memorable drive/ ride you’ve ever had?
Riding the mountain section of the TT on a 1998 ZX6R road bike that may as well have pogo sticks for suspension.
How involved are you in testing and mechanical tweaking before events?
I’m in the workshop almost every day along with the rest of the team.
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
Doing the full road racing calendar one way or another.
What is your go to playlist or song before an event to get in the zone?
“Eminem Lose Yourself” occasionally before a race .
If you could try any other motorsport what one would you choose?
What’s the fastest you’ve ever gone in a car or bike on track and when?
150mph on the stock R6 at Snetterton.
What is your daily drive or ride?
1998 Kawasaki ZX6R.
Who is your inspiration?
Talan skeels-piggins and Ian Hutchinson.
What is the one thing you could not live without?

Procrastinating when I should be doing Uni work.

I spend more time cycling than riding motorbikes.
