Round 4 of Enduroland Race XC was held at a new venue in Wiltshire, an open fast track with a small wooded section just to slow it down. There were worries that EBC sponsored rider Chris Bailey would be at a disadvantage on a smaller capacity 150cc bike. The fast track seemingly suited larger machines.
Any fears were quickly put to rest though, as Chris pulled into 2nd place on the first corner. The track was dry and dusty, so it was difficult to follow another bike. But Chris pushed on, riding in 3rd by the end of the first lap, catching and passing some of the expert class.
Being on a smaller bike didn’t seem to cause Chris any problems. For the next few laps Chris pushed himself and the bike harder and harder to stay with the more powerful machines.
After a quick stop halfway to refuel, Chris managed to hold a good gap to the racers behind and maintained it until the chequered flag. He finished the race 1st in class and 3rd overall, his highest position to date.
