It has been a tough start to my year – bike problems and a small crash where I dislocated my shoulder had really left me struggling, but no matter what I know I will always give it 110% when the gate drops, for myself and everyone who supports me.
The 1st Swedish championship was held in the deep sand track in the south of Sweden called Saxtorp. It was nice to be back racing with great weather for the whole weekend.
I couldn’t get a free lap to myself but still managed to get a time good enough for 2nd gate pick which I was happy about.
A good enough start in 4th position but my toughest competition was 1st and 2nd. I got myself into 2nd after some laps but by then the gap to the lead was over 10 seconds. But I keep pushing and pushing and finally with only 2 laps to go I was able to catch-up and pass to win Moto 1.
I didn’t start as well and again my two hardest competitors were out in front. I tried to push and catch up, but after 3 laps I was totally out of energy with no fight at all. So, I decided to back off and make sure I could finish the race in 3rd.
3-1 for 2nd overall and same points as the leader was a good weekend for me. I have only been riding 12/15 hours on the bike from October last year. Having many problems, I haven’t been getting my Moto’s in during the week, so I knew I was going to struggle this weekend with that.
I had good speed and am happy with my riding, I just need more bike time to bike fit and confidence again without any problems. It’s the Swedish championship but the top 5 girls here are top 10 world championship riders so to get a win this weekend I am happy with.
Thank you again for all your help and support. It wouldn’t be possible without you!
