EBC-equipped motocross racer secures gold in the 125cc class of coveted youth event
16-year-old EBC Brakes-equipped Lewis Bethell proudly took home the gold medal in the RacewearX 125cc class of the 2022 MX Master Kids UK Championship recently, held at the Wiltshire-based Cusses Gorse MX Track.
The event spanned three days and attracted over 400 youth riders, with Bethell achieving four wins over the six races to ensure he secured the top spot at the end of proceedings.
Bethell’s Husqvarna TC125 motorcycle is adorned with EBC Brakes’ MX-S-Series motocross brake pads and CX-Extreme motocross brake discs (front and rear).
“My goal coming into MX Master Kids was to better my seventh-position overall result last year, and I really wanted to get onto the podium,” Bethell explains. “Some issues early on meant I qualified in 18th, meaning I really had my work cut out.”
Thanks to some seriously impressive riding, Bethell was able to battle the likes of Tom Butler and Benny Bradley across the weekend, eventually pipping the competition to the post.
“To be a champion at MX Master Kids is a pretty big achievement for me, and I’m quite proud to be a champion at a big event like this and it definitely feels good, Bethell continues. “As long as the dates work for me, I will 100% be back in 2023.”
