EBC MTB brakes are amazing according to
UCI MTB World Cup racer Thom Guibal is experiencing an amazing season with EBC downhill racing brakes. Thom competed in the qualifying round at Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada on 5th – 6th August 2017 and was ecstatically happy to have made the UCI MTB World Cup for the second year in a row.
Here is his race report of the event:
I am so happy to have been selected for this year’s World Cup set in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada. Last year MSA was my first World Cup ever and I’m stoked to come back here for the second time.
Training went very well, the track was very fast and incredibly rocky, it’s just all about speed and commitment. We had two sunny days on Thursday and Friday which made cycling conditions perfect.
On the qualifying day unfortunately I had a big crash and I hurt my left shoulder during morning practice and after a medical check I was OK for competing in the qualifying round in “normal” conditions.
My qualifying run was much too tense, I made a massive mistake on the top of the track and after that I tried to ride very fast to catch up to qualify, but sadly too much haste resulted in a crash in “les dalles”.
So no qualification for me, I have to work mentally on my approach to World Cup runs, stay as smooth as possible and manage my stress for those special races.
I’d like to thank EBC Brakes for their help, those MTB brake pads are amazing!
I’m currently 30th in the general ranking of the French cup. The happiness of this Coupe de France at home is always in the air and now I’m focusing on the weekend finals in Montgenèvre on 18th – 20th August 2017.
