EBC Brakes welcome 2018 season’s new and old supported racers

EBC Brakes are pleased to welcome new and old supported racers at the start of the 2018 racing season. This year is shaping up to be an exciting season for our automotive teams, who will be racing worldwide in a wide variety of classes, including drift racing, off-road rallying, Autocross, classic cup racing and much more!

All our racers depend on EBC specially formulated brake products for the high performance stopping power needed whatever the conditions; asphalt track, road, off-road conditions like sand, mud, water etc.

Gigglepin Racing

The Gigglepin Racing Team, consisting of Jim Marsden amongst many other experienced off-road rally drivers and navigators are looking forward to another action packed season when they compete in some of the most extreme rally events around the world, including the Croatia Trophy, The Breslau Rally and French Xtrem in their ‘Little Lady’ #69 equipped with EBC Yellowstuff Truck brake pads.

This year, Jim and his crew are heading off to The Welsh Extreme Event first  which takes place in The Pit, Cynheidre, Llanelli, South Wales on 9th – 11th March 2018. The Welsh Extreme is an exciting multi-disciplined rally event based in the wild, wet and rugged forests and ex mining grounds of Cynheidre.

Also on the Gigglepin agenda is the Ultra4 King of France rally event which this year takes place on 18th – 20th May 2018 at Univers Tout Terrain (La Ferté Gaucher, 77) North Eastern France. This course is short in length but proves to require incredibly technical skills for the drivers to navigate safely through tons of huge rocks, something Team Gigglepin seem to tackle with experience and ease.

Team JAPS are a drift racing outfit made up of three team members, which include Mark Young aka Crashbaldicoot, Terri Young and Mike Newland. They compete in the Formula G European Gymkhana GRiD & Fueltopia Barrel Sprint drift racing series in which they have been achieving top 10 race results.

During the 2017 season the whole team finished in impressive positions in the Fueltopia Barrel Sprint series when Mike Newland came in 2nd, Mark Young in 5th and Terri in 9th overall. Round One of the Fueltopia Barrel Sprint for the 2018 season begins on Sunday 25th February at Santa Pod Raceway in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

The Fueltopia Barrel Sprint is a knock-out style tournament – a cross between drifting, drag racing and gymkhana where the focus is on the skill and technique of the driver rather than the overall speed as required in other types of automotive racing. This is why TeamJAPS depend on the high friction that Yellowstuff brake pads provide, supported with GD sport discs for full control when navigating tight corners around the barrels.

Peter Burchill

The Vulcan Racing Team, made up of three friends; Peter Burchill, Dan Ludlow & Tony Stiles, are looking forward to another busy season when they race once more in the MGCC and CSCC Series. Peter and the team have had lots of circuit racing success over the years and always gain top ten places in their class. Last year during the 2017 racing season, Peter came 4th overall and the previous year both Peter and Dan Ludlow came 2nd overall.

Peter has been an assisted racer for EBC Brakes since the team was formed in 2010 and have won silverware in every season. The team have been racing equipped with EBC Bluestuff and Yellowstuff brake pads for the best possible friction needed on the race track.

The 1st round of the MG Cup takes place at Brands Hatch on Saturday 7th April 2018 when MG and Rover car models compete. The MG racing series, sponsored by Pete Best Insurance, has been established for over 20 years and is the only championship for which any MG model is eligible to race.

EBC Brakes USR Slotted Brake Discs/Rotors

EBC Bluestuf NDX Brake PadsEBC Ultimax Slotted USR Brake Rotors are manufactured using premium disc blanks. These rotors benefit from quiet running which is all down to the narrower multi-slot design and the progressive angle at which the slots are machined.
