Lewis Dean Motorsports – EBC Impreza
On Sunday 24th May Lewis Dean Motorsport drivers Sarah and Shaun Fudge returned once again to Gurston Down to do the hill climb race against some of the fastest drivers in the production class. They use a combination of EBC Ultimax Slotted Brake Rotors and Yellowstuff Fastest Street brake pads to provide all the reliability and power needed for hill climb racing.
A change of gearbox ratios before race day had the couple learning from scratch which gear for which corners would be best. Mastering the new ratios was the order of the weekend but Sarah still managed a respectable 6th Place out of 15 drivers, like Shaun taking higher honours with a 3rd place trophy.

Huntingdonshire Regional College – Clubmans Race Team
The Huntingdonshire Regional College travelled to Donington Park, the venue for the 50th Anniversary Clubmans celebrations and returned with a pair of hard fought fifth places. Howard Payne’s Clubmans race car uses EBC Bluestuff Brake Pads, a perfect choice for racing in classic motorsport.
As the reigning title holders it’s not what the team expects but after a difficult start to the season it is a solid foundation from which to build upon. Racing driver Howard Payne posted the fourth fastest time in the first qualifying session.
I feel like our season is just starting after all the difficulties encountered so far!
A number of adjustments were required after the session and they were carried out with efficiency by the student crewed race team which drew praise from the many visitors attracted to the festivities in the paddock.
Payne’s start in the Mallock Mk20B saw him drop down the order before the opening corner.
I was baulked by a slower car and had to lift and watch several cars go by.
For several laps the HRC car fought over fifth place with Rod Player before being able to pull away to secure the position. A truncated second qualifying session left Payne sixth on the grid for race two which he turned into fifth place after another battle with Player.
However, after a number of suspension adjustments, the HRC car was much closer to the duelling podium places which saw the team travel home full of optimism for the rest of the season.
Odi Bakchis – Formula Drift Racer
Odi Bakchis Maintains Points-Leader Position Following Formula Drift Round 3
Round 3 of the Formula Drift 2015 series took place on June 6th and 7th in Orlando, Florida. Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis maintained his standing as the current points-leader following the event. Bakchis is using EBC Bluestuff NDX, a high friction race and sport material that is great for use in Formula drift racing.
This was the series’ first showing in Orlando, providing the drivers with a banked oval course and technical infield. Bakchis qualified 6th on the new course and made his way into the Top 16 on Saturday. A heavy storm interrupted the Top 16 tandem rounds, creating wet conditions for the drivers. Bakchis finished the event in the Top 16 and maintained his position as the current leader for the championship.
