Two recent races held at the Jarama race track saw promising results from all participants using the EBC Brakes Racing friction material

After a long summer break, the Spanish CER-GT was back with a bang at San Sebastián de los Reyes’ Circuito del Jarama, just north of Madrid.

The three participants who use EBC Brakes Racing’s RP-1™ pads were back on the track after some hard mid-season maintenance work, to continue in their fights for the championship.

The weekend at Jarama began with just over an hour of free practice for all participants to get familiar with the warm asphalt. During qualifying, the three participants with RP-1™ pads were already showing promise.

Ivan Velasco and Antonio ‘Tony’ Castillo (Peugeot RCZ) achieved the pole position for Race One, with a penalty sadly dropping them down to 14th by the end (fourth in class). In Race Two, the duo started second, eventually receiving a Class D3 victory when the chequered flag was shown.

Héctor Hernández and Borja Hormigos (MINI Challenge) achieved pole for both races within the D5 class (fourth and eighth respectively overall in the grid). In Race One, they performed great, clinching second in Class D5. Race Two was even more fruitful, with a class victory secured after some solid driving.

Francisco Pérez (Peugeot 207 Proto) scored eighth in Class D4 after some mechanical problems knocked him down the grid in Race One. Bad luck struck Francisco again for Race Two, who suffered a mechanical failure and had to retire when he was in fourth.

The new RP-1™ pads of EBC Brakes Racing continue to demonstrate that they are at the bleeding edge when it comes to competitive performance.

The final CER-GT round of 2019 takes place on 9-10 November at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
