We’ve undertaken an epic project that will see us develop one of the most formidable Fiesta STs in the country

Now it’s reaching its final stages, we’ve decided to look back at how our ‘Ultimate Fiesta Build’ project has unfolded over the last few months by bringing you our build articles that were originally featured in Fast Ford magazine. This week, it’s Part 12, where we find ourselves over at Pandora Car Alarms getting one of their finest security systems installed.

Remember: you can now sign up to WIN the car in a charity raffle competition, with all proceeds going to the Rays of Sunshine children’s charity. Click here to enter.

Ultimate Fiesta So Far

During a routine scroll through the web recently, we stumbled upon a rather eye-opening list that displayed the most stolen vehicles in the UK throughout 2020.

Guess what was right at the top spot? Yep – the humble Ford Fiesta! This worried us here at EBC HQ, as our Mk7 ST ‘Ultimate Fiesta Build’ is undoubtedly a particularly desirable example of this much-loved hatchback, making us feel even more exposed to the potential dangers lurking out there.

There was only one thing for it: to head to one of the UK’s most respected alarm specialists – Pandora Car Alarms – to make our Fezza as secure as Fort Knox in case of any unwanted attention in the future.

With premises in Birmingham, London and Manchester, Pandora is pushing the envelope of what’s possible with car alarm systems right now. Often catering for the most exotic supercars on the planet (including some of Shmee150’s machines), we knew we’d be in safe hands.

Arriving at the firm’s impressive Redditch HQ, we were greeted by Sales Manager Matt, who talked us through what the team thought would be the best solution for our particular needs – the Light Pro V2 system.

The Light Pro V2 system is both an alarm and immobiliser unit, offering not only immobilisation but also an array of sensors (including shock, motion, tilt and internal) to protect our Ford from a huge number of circumstances. It also boasts an anti-hijack feature which is designed to keep you safe during any incidents of carjacking. Pretty cool!

We teamed this up with the Nav-X tracking upgrade that unlocks a raft of features and controls that can be accessed from your phone wherever you are in the world. This means we could arm our Fiesta if we happened to be on holiday in Australia, even if the car is already in motion.

As well as a turbo timer function which will prove incredibly useful for us, this piece of kit also lets you start and stop the engine of your car from anywhere in the world – great if you’re on a long trip away and want to keep the engine in tip-top condition by giving it a quick run once in a while.

There’s no way we could physically find room to tell you about all the amazing features this system offers, so it’s well worth heading over to Pandora’s website for full details.

Although we’re not allowed to give away too much about the full installation process, one thing that did amaze us was just how small the whole system was – the alarm unit being not much bigger than a credit card. Matt proudly tells us it’s arguably the most advanced off-the-shelf alarm system you can buy right now.

Now it’s all installed, we need to spend a couple of evenings playing around and getting to grips with just what we can now do with all this amazing new kit. We’ll see you next time…
