Ireland-based Adam Thatcher became something of a road bicycle racing sensation as a child, competing from the age of eight both nationally and internationally with the Cycle Ireland Talent Team.
Due to illness, he temporarily pulled away from road racing after some success, returning to two wheels in the form of mountain biking after realising he enjoyed this discipline even more than racing on the road.
Now in college, Adam tries to hit up his local mountain – Mt. Lenister – early every morning as part of his strict training regime.
2020 was meant to be the first year of competitive downhill action for this young rider, but thanks to Covid-19, he’s only managed to enter one race so far, finishing an impressive eighth nonetheless.
“I’ve only ever used EBC Brakes on my bikes and am currently using their Red pads on my Radon Slide.”
– Adam tells us.
“They are reliable and their stopping power is second-to-none. I highly recommend anyone who is in the sport to use EBC – they won’t regret it.
“I’m looking forward to competing more next year, and in the meantime am keeping up the training.”
