EBC Brakes-sponsored motorcross rider Chris Bailey was back for round 5 of the Endurolands RaceXC. Here is the race report for the event:
This was race 5 with Endurolands RaceXC series which was held at Northaw Potters Bar. And would you believe our luck, after weeks of sunshine we woke on Sunday morning to heavy rain.
Chris got a good start to the race and took the holeshot. This track is known for its fast, open track, so it was going to be an interesting two hours with the overnight rain – which stayed with us for the race.
That good start allowed Chris to pull a small gap on the others in his class, but each lap the track got wetter and more churned up. By lap four Chris had lost his lead in the class; this wasn’t down to a mistake, but the more powerful bikes came into their own in the muddy conditions. His small capacity bike just hadn’t got the power to push its way through the ever-increasing muddy conditions. But Chris still pushed on, lap after lap, not giving up.
Chris held his second place, right up to the last lap, but by the time the flag dropped he finished 3rd in class and a very respectable 9th overall, in the toughest conditions yet.
