Enduro Rider Chris Bailey visited EBC Brakes World Headquarters on Friday 27th October 2017 with his dad Jon and his brand new KTM 150 XC-W 2018 off-road racing bike ready for the next season’s racing.
Chris has just completed a successful season when he competed in the second Enduroland Scramble on 29th October 2017 and Round Seven of the 2017 Acerbis Race XC season with Enduroland which took place on 8th October at Chacombe Seal Farm, Banbury, Oxon.

Chris and his dad Jon, visited EBC Brakes World Headquarters on a crisp sunny day with his very clean, new and shiny looking KTM 150 XC-W 2018. The bike was purchased in preparation for next season following on from the success of Chris’ results for 2017 when he finished 1st in the Adult Youth Class and 27th overall out of 71 riders, most of which are of varied ages competing in the Acerbis Race XC series with Enduroland. This is a fantastic result for the talented 14 year old who we are sure will continue his high performance in 2018 on the new bike.
The KTM 150 XC-W bike is a race-ready bike built to suit Enduro racing and is custom made to order. Luckily Jon Bailey had put the order in and received it just in time for Chris to put the new bike through its paces before the start of next season at the second Enduroland Scramble, which took place on Sunday 29th October 2017 at Chacombe (see video below). Chris raced a total of eight races, won each one and finished first overall, proof that the bike is definitely a wise buy!
The bike itself has the agility of a 125cc with the power capable to match that of a 250cc. Equipped with EBC enduro racing brakes, this bike is a great choice for the sort of tough terrain as that found on the Enduroland courses.
Great day racing at the Enduroland Scramble. Eight races of one lap each. Eight 1st places and therefore 1st overall. Great day on the new bike with perfect results!
Round Seven Race Report – Acerbis Race XC series
So it’s the last race of the summer season at Enduroland race XC, for this event we were back at Chacombe Seal Farm. With a slight twist to the story for this race, which was that we had sold Chris’ bike and were waiting for the new one to arrive, but due to technical issues at the KTM factory the bike was delayed and would not be here for the last race. So Chris had to use my bike which he had never raced on before, and is also an MX bike so set up slightly different to his normal enduro bike, so after some tinker time, I borrowed a larger fuel tank from a friend, readjusted the suspension, and fingers crossed for the race.
As the checkered flag dropped Chris was second off the line and after a very short battle with first place, took the holeshot by no more than a hair’s width, so the race was on. Chris soon got used to riding my bike and settled into a good rhythm very quickly, this is his favourite track which probably helped. Lap after lap Chris, again constant with his lap times, started to pull a lead over second place, by now half way through the two hours even with a bigger tank he still needed to refuel. I pulled him in for a quick pit stop then sent him on his way.
Chris was now settled with a good pace and continued this way till the end of the race, he finished 5:34 ahead of second place and finish 1st in class, 27th overall out of 71.
Another championship for 2017 under his belt. With six 1st places and one 2nd place.
Thanks to EBC Brakes, without their help none of this would be possible.
